On November 27th, 2019, Will passed away suddenly in a hiking accident in the Alberni-Clayoquot area of Vancouver Island.
Will Vant Erve was a firefighter both professionally at 19 Wing Comox and as a volunteer with the Courtenay Fire Department. In addition to mountaineering, Will was a mountain biker and motorcycle enthusiast, a parachutist, fisherman, and incredible cook.
Will never sweat the small things. Together, Aly and Will were invincible. The news of Will's passing has been felt by people around the world. From the Military community, his fellow firefighter family at the Courtenay Fire Department, and their family and friends who cover every province across Canada.
As Aly tries to navigate through life without Will, she needs our help. Last-minute flights and travel accommodations for her support network to be there for her when she needs are costly and should not stand in the way. Losing your partner at such a young age is not something anyone knows how to do, and Aly is right now living her life one hour at a time.
Aly has been incredibly strong when it comes to expressing what she needs. It is important for her to have her closest friends around her when she needs it the most. We are asking for anything you can offer to help get Aly's people to her when she needs it as she moves through this next chapter of her life.
