Send Ypsi Student Artists to D.C.

Donation protected

Please donate today to help send Ypsi art students to D.C. to exhibit their work.

66 Ypsilanti Community School (YCS) students in grades K-12 have been selected to display their art in Washington D.C. at the Department of Education in May of 2020. YCS is the only district from Michigan to ever receive this honor! The works on display present each individual's interpretation of the theme Diversity, Equality & Justice.

As part of the DemsCare program , the Washtenaw County Democratic Party (WCDP) is helping to raise funds to send  these young artists on the trip of a lifetime to see their work in a national gallery.

For your convenience, WCDP volunteer Margaret Schankler set up this page for those who wish to donate on-line. Absolutely all funds collected here will be transferred to the YCS DC 2020 account.

On October 10th, from 5-9 p.m.  there will be an opening reception/ fundraiser at the WCDP office at 418 W. Michigan Ave., Ypsilanti.  Snacks and drinks will be provided. Donations at the door are much appreciated.

You can also write a  check or money order to  Ypsilanti Community Schools  (Please write YCS Washington DC 2020 in the memo line.) Mail or drop off in person at 1885 Packard St. Ypsilanti, MI 48197.
