Hello,

My name is Brooks Narvaez I’m a FireFighter here in the Kansas City metro area and also one half of a ridiculous podcast with my friend Shawn Glen.

Over the years we’ve met a lot of people that were in need of help. It has really been gut wrenching to not be able to help or help enough. We either lack the know how or means to make any kind of difference and that slowly eats away at the soul.

With that being said, I’ve met someone who we could possibly help, we could possibly change the whole trajectory of his family’s future. His name is Brian Bursey. He is a good dude with a strong back and a big heart. He’s recently immigrated here from South Africa to make a better life for his family. Brian has been busting his butt working odd jobs trying to make ends meet. I’ve had several conversations with him about entering in the fire service. It would provide two things: a career and a feeling of purpose.The only problem is he lacks the financial means to attend the academy at the moment. With him only being in the country a short while, he lacks a tax return (which he soon will have) which will delay any financial aid. So we’ve got some sponsorships together but we’re still short. We’ve decided to crowd source the rest.
