Send Burke Town School to Odyssey Worlds!

Parents of the Burke Town School (BTS) Odyssey of the Mind team are seeking your help to send our kids to the Odyssey of the Mind World Tournament in Iowa, May 21-24, 2024. This would be a FIRST for BTS and any Kingdom East school!!!

After dedicating time twice a week after school since October to develop their long problem presentation, this very talented middle school team took home the top creativity prize at the state tournament and first place in their division. The registration cost for the team, including all participation fees as well as room and board on the Iowa State campus is $730 per person or $6,570. This does not include the cost of flights to Iowa (est. $5,400) and shuttle service from the Des Moines International Airport to campus ($75). Total cost to attend Worlds is $12,045.

A bake sale organized by the team has already raised over $800 and the team recently received $750 from Kingdom East Afterschool Program (KEAP). They have other fundraisers planned to raise another $2,250 and will also be soliciting local businesses for support. This GoFund Me will help raise the balance of funds needed to get our kids to Worlds. Any surplus funds will be used for future Odyssey of the Mind team competition. We must register and pay our fees by April 23rd, so we have less than a month to raise the funds needed.
