Send Cassidy to Belize!

If I had to encapsulate Cassidy into one word, the word would be resilient. Most pre-teens are forced to overcome challenges of awkward pubescent encounters or difficult class assignments, but the adversities Cassidy has had to fight throughout her middle-school career are far worse than waking up with a pimple on the day of the school dance. This young lady was questioned tirelessly about her genuine headaches, nausea, and anxiety only to find out that what was causing these symptoms was a brain tumor. Cancer.
I cannot begin to imagine the emotional and physical trauma of going through brain surgery and chemotherapy all while navigating the pandemic and keeping up with school. What I CAN say from knowing Cassidy in her second year of chemotherapy, though, is she took it like a champ all while maintaining good grades and friendships. Even when her numbers were running askew, she came to school with a big smile on her face.
Why we should help Cassidy go on an educational trip to Belize:
She deserves the world because she gives so much to others. Cassidy is the most selfless girl I know. She collects toys and books for other children in hospitals. She uses her birthday cash to buy gifts for other people. Rarely have I ever seen her put herself first, so she deserves this trip!
She loves animals! Her dream in life is to become a veterinarian, and I KNOW she can do it! Aside from being resilient and selfless, she is extremely passionate about the wellbeing of animals. This trip has a large focus on wildlife, and this will help Cassidy develop skills beneficial to her future career.
Her family has not only been hit hard by the emotional trauma of Cassidy’s diagnosis and treatments, but they have had to sacrifice a lot financially. Her father lost his job in the pandemic, and they just recently had to sell their dream home that they worked so hard to get. This trip simply would not be possible without our financial help.
So please join me in making this dream a reality for sweet Cassidy. I can picture her squeal and emphatic clapping when I tell her she will be going to Belize with me and a few of her classmates, so let’s make this happen! I know her family will be eternally grateful to each and every one of you. Thank you.
