Send Colombia's AFL teams to the TransAtlantic Cup in Canada

Donation protected
The Colombian Jaguares national AFL teams have been invited by the AFL to play in TransAtlantic Cup in Toronto Canada in August 2024 (yep, in two months) and we need your help to get them there. Our amazing sponsors Orica have got us part of the way, but our women's team are still short on funds. If you help us now they can still participate. Your donation can make the difference!

  • $50 can pay for one player's uniform
  • $250 can pay for one players hostel accommodation in Canada for the 10 days of the tournament
  • $750 can cover return flights from Bogota to Toronto for a player
Unlike their competition from North America and Europe, our players need to apply for passports for the first time, require Canadian visas, and are not in a position to pay their own costs for flights and accommodation. For almost every player, it will be the first time they have ever left their town or city, let alone the country.

AFL Colombia is volunteer run and has been proudly supported by Orica, the Australian Embassy in Colombia, and the Victorian Government. That's kept the lights on and allowed us to start an amazing scholarship program and outreach into vulnerable and conflict-affected communities in Colombia. But going to compete in Canada is not something we can do without further support. AFL Colombia is subsidising every player's trip with all of the resources we can muster by holding fundraisers, knocking on doors with sponsors and potential partners from government to the private sector, but it's still a huge ask ... which is why we're also asking YOU!

More about the Trans-Atlantic Cup:
The AFL Trans-Atlantic Cup will be held in Toronto, Canada in August 2024. It is the first regional competition of it's kind. It is an incredible opportunity for the players to represent their country, and all of South America, as the first teams to play in an international AFL competition. If we can get them to the starting line - Colombia's men's and women's teams will be up against teams from Canada, the USA, the UK, Ireland and France.

More about what we're doing in Colombia:
We have over 300 registered players across multiple cities, men's and women's domestic competitions, an outreach program in conflict impacted regions of the country, and a scholarship program (the Orica Future Leaders program) which sent the first three Colombian players to learn English and play a season for local clubs in Melbourne in 2024.
