Send Covid to jail!! - “Amen” (Mike Swope)

Donation protected
Every journey starts with a single step.  In this case it was a big step from China to St. George, Utah.  Mike was reunited with his family of 2 (Heather and Sierryn age 3) which was about to become a family of 3!  On New Year’s Eve 2019 Mike was blessed with a healthy baby boy “Britton”.  2020 was off to a great start and the plan was to return back to China where Mike and his family had called home for the last several years.  As Covid-19 outbreaks escalated, it was clear Mike, his family, and his job in China were going to have to hang tight.  Mike and his family have been temporarily living with Heather’s mother and stepdad until the dust clears.  We are so grateful for them and their hospitality.  They like us were hoping for a reprieve on this pandemic but things took a turn for the worse.

All of Mike’s family and extended family was diagnosed with Covid-19.  Mike was first to take a stay at the ICU then followed by his father in law and mother in law.  We are happy to report that both of them have battled and recovered from Covid-19 and are back home.  Mike’s story hasn’t followed the same script.

August 23rd Mike was admitted to the ICU in St. George, Utah with complications due to Covid-19.

August 24th Mike was diagnosed with diabetes.  (An additional danger for Covid-19 patients)

September 3rd Mike and Heather got to speak to each other at 3:00 am before he was intubated and placed on a ventilator.

September 8th the doctors said Mike's kidneys are too damaged and he will start dialysis immediately.   This will now be something Mike will deal with for the rest of his life.

September 17th Mike suffered a stroke

September 24th, the doctors confirmed the worst.  No brain activity.

September 26th, Mike's wife and a few others will make the journey to his hospital bed and say goodbye to a loving father, husband, son, brother, and friend.

We are asking for donations on behalf of Mike.  The donations will go toward medical bills, funeral expenses and to support his wife and two young kids while they navigate this trying time.  Anyone that knows Mike knows that he would rather have any assistance go to someone else that is in need.  The only reason we are able to do this is because he can’t stop us this time.  His family needs your help!

If financial donations aren’t an option, please continue to pray for his family and others impacted by Covid 19.
