Send Emma to Switzerland!

Hi my name is Emma and I have been involved with Guiding since I was 10 I am currently a Ranger and this role has given me many opportunities including life skills, meeting new people from all over the world, take on responsibilities like running activities throughout meetings and stalls in fairs and many more!

I am one of only 12 girls representing Wales through Girlguiding Cymru to a trip to Our Chalet in Switzerland. I had to go through 3 selection processes: I first had to send in an application where I expressed my wanting to go on this trip, I then had to go through a county selection where I was one of 3 girls to be put through and finally I had to go through a country selection where I was the only girl from my county selected.

Our Chalet is one of 5 world centres and I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to be able to attend. I have to fundraise my entire trip and I have previously done so by attending local fairs and selling items on websites like Ebay and will continue to do so as well. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it would also count to my Queens Guide award which is the highest award within Guiding. Not only this but it would also give me the chance to mix with girls all over the world and learn about new cultures and try new things.

Out of the £1900 I have to raise in total, through this and other fundraisers I have raised a total of £1860 meaning I have £40 left to raise!
