Send Eshu to Gaelic Immersion in Nova Scotia

Donation protected
Over the past several years I've been engaged in a process of reconciliation and healing. Early on, an Elder suggested that if I wanted to engage in reconciliation with local First Nations, my first step should be to know who I am - which would involve coming to know and reconcile with my own ancestors. I took this to heart.

Since that time I have immersed myself in learning about my own people, particularly my ancestors that came from what is now known as Scotland. I've engaged with Ancestral Lineage Healing with Daniel Foor, learning with Michael Newton through the Hidden Glen, and the message that kept coming through was an emphasis on how deeply language and culture are enmeshed. I came to see that if I genuinely wanted to understand anything about my people, I had to be able to read, write, hear, and speak my ancestral language... Gaidhlig.

I've engaged with that intensively. So much so that while I've only been learning for about a year and a half, I am currently halfway through the third-year program of Gàidhlig online with Colaisde na Gàidhlig (The College of Gaelic) in Nova Scotia.

It's universally recognized that the best way to truly integrate a language is through immersion. Colaisde na Gàidhlig offers a month-long residential immersion program on their campus called An Cùrsa Bogaidh each May.

The College and the Course are both very fairly priced, but the challenge with any immersion is that... well... I'd be immersed - meaning I couldn't do anything else, like working and earning a living. I'd need to have the cost of tuition, travel, food, household rent and utilities (so I have a place to come back to) - up front!

At the root of my efforts is my commitment to make my life an offering; to my community, my kin, my friends, my clients, and the Earth - to be of benefit to all Beings. I hope that everyone who knows me also knows that what I learn, I share.

I have accepted that actualizing my aspiration to attend An Cùrsa Bogaidh is not something that I will be able to accomplish alone. I am asking for your support. If this vision is something that inspires you, please help me get there.

My deepest thanks,
Eshu
