Send Gabi to the Washington Journalism and Media Conference

Hello! My name is Gabi Isenberg, and I’m a junior at Indiana Area Senior High School with a strong passion for journalism. Alongside AP and honors classes (and maintaining a 4.0+ GPA), I’m involved in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and science club, serve as vice president of our Athena Club, volunteer at the local library, swim competitively on two teams, and work three part-time jobs. Out of all these activities, though, I’m truly passionate about my involvement in journalism. As editor-in-chief and president of my school newspaper, The High Arrow, I’ve reported on everything from school events to local sports—recently even contributing articles to our local newspaper, The Indiana Gazette. I love giving people a voice and helping others see perspectives they might otherwise miss. That’s why I plan to pursue a career in journalism, communications, or public relations. I’m excited to share that I’ve been selected to attend the Washington Journalism and Media Conference (WJMC) at George Mason University this July. Only 400 students from across the nation were invited based on academic and journalistic excellence. At WJMC, I’ll meet professional journalists, visit Capitol Hill, and collaborate with other young reporters from around the U.S. The total cost of the conference is $2,600 plus travel, and I’ve already raised over $1,400 by contacting businesses and organizations in the community. My goal is to raise the remaining amount by May 15th, and I’m reaching out to friends and family for support. Any contribution to my efforts is greatly appreciated. I’ll be sharing photos and stories after the conference so you can see the incredible opportunities your support helped make possible. Thank you in advance for your donation!
Sincerely,
Gabi
