Send LMU Pickleball to Collegiate Nationals!

Donation protected
Hi there!

My name is Jimmy Warshawsky. I’m a senior marketing and communications student at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California, and I’m the founder and president of LMU’s Pickleball Club. I started this club back in January of this year and have watched it grow over the last ten months into a thriving community of young pickleballers. We’ve spent these months playing, practicing, learning, and getting ready to compete, and now we need your help.

At the end of November, DUPR (a pickleball ratings company) is hosting the first ever Collegiate Pickleball National Championships. LMU is one of 16 schools in the country (and the only school in California) selected to compete in the championship bracket, with $10,000 of scholarship money on the line. We have our roster set and are all pumped to compete and show the nation what we’ve got. The only problem is that this tournament is a mere 1,400 miles away in Austin, Texas.

We would love the chance to compete in this first-of-its-kind event, and represent California pickleball on a national scale, but we need help with funding. In order to help with our travel expenses (flights, boarding, and transportation), we are asking for donations. This is a great opportunity to support pickleball, the game we love, and especially collegiate pickleball. Any bit of funding helps!

We appreciate your support so much! If you donate $20 or more, we’d love to send you a limited edition LMU Pickleball sticker to show our gratitude. If you donate $50 or more, we’ll send you one of our coveted member t-shirts! All donors are welcome to come by our Open Play events at LMU, which are always announced on our Instagram (@LMUpickleball).

When I started this club last Winter, it started out small, but I had big dreams and lofty goals for it. After putting in hundreds of hours of work into it, it has become something I am truly proud of. We measure and tape out four pickleball courts and set up four nets twice a week every week on our school’s tennis courts so we can play this silly game that we are all in love with. My term as president ends with the end of this semester, and going to Nationals would be the perfect culmination of an amazing first year of LMU Pickleball. Please help support us, college pickleball, and California pickleball by donating to our campaign!

Cheers,
Jimmy Warshawsky
