Send Maleah to Howard University

My name is Ma’leah Andrews, and I am a proud graduate of Creative Arts High School in Camden, New Jersey. Where I grew up, poverty, drug abuse, and violence plagued my community. Many of my peers are teenage mothers. Many kids don’t graduate and end up in low-paying jobs or illegal activities.

I’m a first-generation college student planning to attend Howard University this Fall. I have a loving family who has done its best to support me, even though we have faced many challenges. I’ve read the statistics on students not being able to pursue their college dreams because of the high cost of college tuition. I have maintained the mindset that I will fight for my dream whatever the costs. Studying at Howard University will help me achieve my overall goal of becoming a successful and prosperous black woman. This additional money raised from this page would ease the burden on my struggling family and give me the ability to focus on a successful start to my college career. Any dollar spent on my education will never be wasted. I am focused not only on being the best version of myself, but on bringing honor to my family, Howard University, and the city of Camden.
