Hey everyone! I’m excited to share about a new life endeavor! I’ll be spending Summer 2024 as an intern at Hungry World Farms (https://www.hungryworldfarm.com/about) (formerly Plow Creek Farm, for those who are familiar) in Tiskilwa, IL!

Please consider supporting me in my mission to:

⁃ learn sustainable farming practices I can bring back to my urban community, and any future communities I'll be a part of!

⁃ assist Hungry World Farms in their mission to “inspire and educate people about healthy fields, food, and bodies while caring for the Earth”

⁃ care for my soul through a meaningful experience of getting dirty, growing, and harvesting.

Why am I leaving my job, my community, my home for an entire summer?

I have felt a growing draw in the past few years towards the earth — to learn about sustainability, permaculture, foraging, growing. The earth is where my hope for the future lies. Giving back to it, caring for it, making it better for future generations — I want to explore those possibilities!

I also believe community can be built through caring for the earth, and communities can be supported through it. A long-term goal of mine is to share my knowledge and experience with my urban community and other communities to further good work already being done, and start new projects as well!

1. Please consider donating to support this endeavor, which would allow me to keep my apartment in Evanston, IL and return to it at the end of the season. I also need to pay for a Permaculture Design Certification course and travel costs. (HW Farms will cover my food and lodging.)

2. Come to my in-person art sale in Evanston, IL, where you can enter to win a decorated cake I design with your input! (Date and details forthcoming.)
