Why send students to Washington DC?
Most of our students have never ventured far beyond Nebraska! This amazing opportunity will focus on leadership in government and encourage students to be our future leaders.
Our students meet with their senators and representatives, witness the democratic process, and take part in active discussions over real world issues with other teens from around the country.
Will you help us raise $11,000 to send our student leaders to Washington DC?

Why are these students special?
This year we started a program to recognize and build student leaders.
These four teens have worked hard this year, going through...
- special training in conflict resolution
- leadership training
- anti-bullying training
- maintaining high attendance and academic standards
- being a positive peer influence in the school
These four students are also responsible for leading the morning check-in classes, which help our students focus and prepare for the day.
Will you help us send them to Washington DC? Give now to help us raise $11,000! Donate now!
What will the $11,000 in funds cover?
The funds raised will cover a week-long program with Close Up Washington DC.
The program cost includes airfare, hotel, food, transportation in the city, staff members from the Close Up program to act as supervision and guides, and necessary admission fees to landmarks.
Who is the Omaha Street School?
The Omaha Street School is an alternative faith-based high school that offers teens a second chance at education. Many of our teens struggled in traditional schools and have little hope and self-confidence when they walk through our doors. Through one on one education and positive relationships, we help students grow in confidence, in themselves and in their future.
Will you join us in our fundraising effort to empower the next generation of student leaders?
