My son Will is a member of the Quail Hollow Middle School Technology Student Association in Charlotte, NC. Many members of our chapter earned a spot at the National Conference — but without help, some of them won't be able to go. We are able to fund his competition fees, but we are hoping to help fund shared team costs and another student’s fees for Nationals.

This year, our team competed in several events like Digital Photography, Website Design, Video Game Design, Drone Challenge, Career Prep and several other events. We spent seven months working on our projects, often before and after school and all day Saturdays. At the state competition, several of our members placed top 3 in the state, which qualified us for Nationals.

Here's what's at stake:

Nationals cost about $1,500 per student: registration, transportation, hotel, and meals. Quail Hollow is a Title I school, and for most of our families, $1,500 isn't a stretch… it's almost impossible.

Without help, kids get left behind. Not because they didn't earn it. They did.

But qualifying isn't the same as going. And every year, kids from schools like ours watch their teammates leave for Nationals without them because the money just isn't there.

That's what this campaign is about. Making sure that doesn't happen to us.

Our goal is $1,500 to help sponsor one other student and provide for shared team costs!

We don’t want any kid on our team left behind because of money. If you give, your donation sends a student to Nationals.

A little about our chapter:

Quail Hollow TSA was just named the North Carolina Large Chapter of the Year for the second year in a row (out of every TSA chapter in the state).

We earned that title without the things most winning chapters have. We don't have a fancy lab. We don't have unlimited supplies. What we have is a group of kids who work ridiculously hard, an advisor who believes in us, and a community we're hoping will show up for us now.

What your donation does:

Sends a student who earned their spot (one who otherwise stays home)

Covers registration, travel, and lodging for Nationals

Every dollar goes to a teammate who needs it!
