Help Rendy go to TIFF

Hello, my name is Rendy Jones. I am a 21-year old non-binary freelance film critic from NYC, a member of both the GALECA, the BFCA, and the youngest African-American film critic on Rotten Tomatoes. I lead a film review site aimed for a Gen-Z/millennial demographic named named "Rendy Reviews" which contains reviews and editorials of theatrical and streaming releases.
Recently, I've had the absolute surprise of receiving press accreditation for TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival). With the extraordinary year it has been for me, getting the opportunity to travel to film festivals I've always dreamed of attending for the first time, I would like to continue that journey with this final trip of the year, and need all the help I can get.
Following the success around my coverage of the Tribeca Film Festival and New York Film Festival, Sundance, and SXSW at the age of 21, I consider TIFF as the perfect opportunity to expand my coverage out of the country and into the larger world of international film festivals. I have been a film critic for seven years and I plan to spend my time at TIFF reviewing unreleased movies and hopefully scheduling interviews with talent.
This would be my first time traveling outside the country specifically for a film festival or ever in fact. As a 21-year old film critic who has never seen the world outside their borders, to be invited as one of the youngest members of press to any film festival outside of NYC, has been some of the most life changing experiences in my entire life. I was able to make unforgettable creatives from around the globe, review some of the best movies of this year, hit groundbreaking achievements in my career, and also found my gender identity throughout my travels, and I hope TIFF would be another opportunity for me to soar.
I plan to stay in an AirBNB for 5 days, looking to spend at least $200 for lodging, $108 for my round trip Megabus ride to Toronto (if I book in time), and $150 for both transportation and food.
I’m excited to bring my unique perspective and point of view to TIFF and to chronicle every facet of the experience as I grow as a journalist and hope you can help me along the way as well. Thank you.
