Send RHS Marching Band to Disneyland

The Richmond High Marchin Band has been progressing steadily even through the challenges of distance learning and this year, we are working on marching at Disneyland! Our students represent our school and community throughout the year, playing at sports events, band competitions, and many local events in our community and the Bay Area. The students in our band pour their hearts and souls into it, and that energy can be felt when you hear them perform!

I have been the leader of the Richmond Music Dept. for the past 9 years and have watched the program grow and hundreds of young people have their lives shaped by music. The impact of making music on a person lasts a lifetime, as do the friendships made along the way. Big trips like this get our students outside our community and provide the background for many learning opportunities.

Our program has just under 80 students in it, which means we need two buses to go on trips and will need enough hotel rooms for this trip. It is will cost approximately $16000 for the buses and hotels alone. Students will be paying the cost of their own many of which have started selling candy and snacks to save up for the trip. We have done several small fundraisers, but we hope to raise a good chunk of the money in this gofundme campaign!
