Send Sheriff Walker to China

Four years ago I joined the UBC Rowing Team and now this journey is taking me on an exciting next step. This summer I have been chosen to represent Canada at The World University Rowing Championships also known as FISU in Shanghai, China. I am beyond honoured to represent my country in this fantastic event where I will be racing the double. I am also super excited for this tremendous opportunity even though in reality this means long hours of training which requires commitment, focus, dedication and time.  We train multiple hours a day to build our technique, skill and endurance which has forced me to give up my summer job. The reality of this opportunity is that there is little funding available to send me there, meaning the financial burden is all on me. Therefore I have created this “GoFundMe” page to hopefully help offset the cost of this international competition. My goal is to fundraise $4500 to compensate the forecasted expenses. Asking for this kind of financial support is not something I am comfortable with but I am in no position to let my pride interfere. I will be forever grateful for any donation.
