Let's press this second album

Hi Folks!

I hope you’re all keeping well.

I always swore that I would never do another Crowd Fund campaign. For my album 'The Occoquan River,' we raised $15,000. I always thought it would be the kick start I needed, and I would be able to finance all future albums. But alas, it turns out that

playing music is crazy expensive. All monies from the 'Occoquan' album have gone into artwork, promotion, instrument upkeep, websites, computer, etc. The list goes on and on. So, now I have enough songs to record four albums but no money to record any.

Here's the plan.

I met a great producer down in Archies Creek, Victoria, Erick Jaskowiak. He invited me over to his studio in Nashville, USA, to record. Eric is pretty unique (seven Grammy Nominations!). We have gone through most of my songs and picked ten songs that suit Eric's sensibilities. He will source local session musicians, and we will record the album in about five days. We will be using the more Countryish songs that I have written. So try to think Neil Youngs Harvest meets Van Morrison meets New Orleans meets Luke Kelly.

Second Part of the plan.

There is a conference in Kansas City, Missouri, 'The International Folk Alliance', That happens every year. It is where all the Folk Festival directors and record companies go to find new acts. I went to the conference back in 2017, but alas, I got bronchitis as soon as I got there and spent the whole conference in my hotel bed, sick as a dog.

This year I am ready. The conference is in February, and I will be promoting my music and my traditional Irish Group, Sionnach Rua. Sionnach Rua's Great Irish Songbook has been a godsend this year. It has allowed me to get out and play again after those crazy two years in lockdown.

So when I get to Kansas and in front of all those festival bookers, I will be ready to showcase my music and our show, the Great Irish Songbook.

With so many songs in the bag, ready to record and a tremendous Irish show selling out everywhere, the future looks very bright.

This is where crowdfunding comes in.

At a conservative estimate, I need $20,000 to get me to the Conference in Kansas and to record the album in Nashville.

It is a lot, I know; I have been mulling this over for a couple of years, and I really don't see how I can raise the money without doing a Crowdfund.

So, a huge thanks to all that helped me make 'The Occoquan River.' I am very proud of that record; it has introduced me to so many people and has given me more adventures than I could have ever dreamt of.
