Donate for a Decoration!

2020 has been a difficult year for everyone but even more so for those whose lives were already unimaginably difficult. The people of Haiti live with the risk of many infectious diseases, coupled with limited access to healthcare and medicines, day in day out.
Right now things are very critical for us. Apart from all the usual challenges we face we have two major problems with funding. One is directly related to the Pandemic as our fundraisers in Europe and the US struggle to bring in funds. The other is due to political issues in Haiti. The country is more unsafe than ever. But we are committed to what we are doing. We are made of strong stuff. We are people of hope and we do not give up easily. You have kept us going and kept us strong all these years.
For this reason we hope as Christmas approaches to entice you to make an extra special effort to help us out and we are going to make it fun for you to do so!!
We know most people will decorate their houses for Christmas. Here our Kay Christine family love to see the decorations go up. So here is how we hope you can help us. We have a nice big tree- made by a local welder. Our Special Needs family are going to make decorations for this tree- they have started already- from plastic bottles, cardboard etc. They are going to have great fun making them and want you to symbolically buy one of these decorations.
When you donate for a decoration, we will put your decoration on the tree and as we do so we will say a prayer for you. We will be putting updates on our web page and our Facebook page so ye will see the progress as we make the decorations.
We are asking you to help save lives. Literally. We are asking you to look beyond yourselves and to help us save our programs. Tell your friends. The more people helping the better for us. Lots of small donations means lots of small lives will be saved. Lots of big donations means that lots of small and big lives will be saved.
Your donations will go towards ensuring the kids and adults in our programs continue to have access to all the medicines and healthcare they need, despite the rising costs. They will also ensure continued access to clean water and food. The smallest of donations can go towards ensuring staff salaries are paid fully - the resulting impact this has on their wider community is immeasurable. The security of a salary is a precious commodity in helping to keep their families safe and healthy.
Here are some examples of how your donations may be used;
2euro donation - school meal / a weeks worth of clean water
5euro donation - a child or adult's weekly therapy (2 sessions a week)
10 euro donation - a weeks school dinners for a child
20euro donation - a bag of rice for a family
40 euro donation - a weeks hospital stay for a child or adult
50 euro donation - seizure medications for a month for one of our kids
100 euro donation - a months rent for a staff member
300 euro donation - a months salary for a worker in the program
Lets bring a little joy to our family in Haiti, who are standing by to thank every donor, decorations at the ready.... let's watch the tree fill up, donation by donation, fuelled by the love and support of the NPH Special Needs Programs International Family!
