Send Tamika J to ACA!
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about helping others. So moving to North Carolina to work on my Master of Divinity/MA in Counseling degrees at Wake Forest University made perfect sense. Though I had been in ministry for several years, I wasn’t completely sure what life as a professional counselor would be like. For me, there is something so sacred about being able to walk alongside people as they navigate the challenges that life brings. It has been more fulfilling than I could have ever imagined.
As I’m preparing to begin my career as a clinician, I have been encouraged to make use of every opportunity to grow and develop. Attending the 2020 American Counseling Association (ACA) Conference in San Diego, CA would open the door to a wealth of information, provide a space to make meaningful connections, and prepare me for my next steps (licensure and eventually a PhD in Counseling and Counselor Education).
I am so thankful for all of the ways that my village has supported me! You are a reflection of God’s love for me and I couldn’t have done any of this without you! Even if you can’t make a financial contribution, I welcome your prayers for me and this journey that I am on! #blacktherapists #mentalhealthmatters
