Hope for the Housemans
Donation protected
Every time I see a member of the Houseman clan, whether it be Eli, Adam, Bridgette or Kinsley, they surround you with their comforting love, joy, kindness and support. They are strong, steady and full of laughs and love, just like we've always known them to be. But more and more their days are filled with overwhelming emotional and physical challenges as they battle this beast of cancer together and although their strain rarely breaks through their joyful exterior, we all know it's there. SO......in celebration of the Housemans, their friendship to all of us throughout the majority of some of our entire lives and Bridgettes amazing feat of GRADUATING NURSING SCHOOL in the midst of their battle, I have started a fundraiser.
Prior to Bridgettes diagnosis, she and Adam were saving for a family vacation. I heard talks of Disney or the beach, or really anywhere they can just be together to enjoy each other. As I talked with Bridgette this week, she across the table looking less than ok, but adorable in her beanie, and I asked her what she needed, she said she just needs a chance to be, to relax, unplug and maybe put her toes in the sand, if a beach were close.
I had already spoken to several close friends about pooling together to pay for the family to have a small trip away together as a graduation gift for them, so when she mentioned her toes in the sand, my mind raced...what if we could make that happen for her?! What an amazing gift we have the chance to give this beloved family if we all come together, a little at a time!
I know the goal is a bit lofty, but I'm confident we can do this! I have a travel agency on standby, waiting to provide a voucher for an all-inclusive 5 night resort stay in Peurto Villarta, flight from Springfield, nothing the Housemans will have to pay, trip that they can schedule whenever convenient for them. The cost is $3,000. So as not to tie them entirely to this trip, the funds will stay in the Fundraising Account until they have a date and destination picked out that suits them with updates for everyone along the way! They are not aware of this collaboration, please keep it a secret...Let's do this!!!
