Help the Mattapan Patriots 14U Football Team and Cheerleaders Reach Nationals!

The Panthers Legends Academic Youth 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is excited to announce a unique and historic opportunity for our Mattapan Patriots youth teams! We’re raising funds to send the Mattapan Patriots 14U football team to the AYF National Tournament in Naples, FL, from December 7th to December 15th. And, for the first time in Mattapan Patriots history, our 12U and 16U Cheer dance teams have qualified to compete at the AYC National Championships in Kissimmee, FL, from December 3rd to December 8th. The funds will cover airfare, lodging, meals, activities, and transportation for all of these dedicated athletes and performers who have trained tirelessly to earn their spots on the national stage.

Why This Year Means So Much

The Mattapan Patriots 14U football team has faced a challenging season, with an unusual number of forfeited games that left our players with fewer opportunities to compete. Despite these setbacks, they stayed committed, and for many of our 14U players, this will be their final season in youth sports. Attending nationals will be a remarkable way to honor their dedication and resilience, creating an unforgettable sendoff as they close this chapter.

Meanwhile, our cheerleaders are making history! This year, they became the first Mattapan Patriots cheer teams to qualify for nationals, earning their place to compete in the dance category at AYC Nationals. Their dedication and success have broken new ground for our program, making this achievement one that’s especially meaningful for our community.

Our teams hail from Mattapan, a neighborhood where access to resources can be limited. Despite facing challenges both on and off the field, these young athletes and performers have shown remarkable perseverance and commitment to their craft. Competing at nationals is about more than just the game or dance; it’s a chance for these youth to experience a milestone that celebrates their hard work and builds lifelong friendships and memories.
