Send The Montagna Singers to Pittsburgh

Dear Supporters,

We are the Montagna Singers of Ottawa, a volunteer choir that has been keeping the Swiss folk music tradition alive since 1975. We are excited to announce that we have been invited to participate in the next singing festival of the North American Swiss Singing Alliance (NASSA) in Pittsburgh PA in June 2024. These festivals are normally held every three years, but this will be the first one since 2018.

For some of our members, this will be their last festival, and though they are leaving the choir, they want to do it on a happy note and will pass on their experience, passion, and knowledge to new members who can continue the tradition. We want to honour their dedication and contribution to our choir by making this trip a memorable one.

This festival is an incredible opportunity for our choir to showcase our talent and passion for Swiss folk music to a wider audience. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we were unable to offer our popular dinner-dance fundraisers and we need your help to make this trip a reality.

Your donations will help us cover the biggest expense of our trip, which is the bus and bus driver, as well as our registration fee. Every dollar you contribute will make a difference in helping us achieve our goal.

By supporting the Montagna Singers, you are helping to preserve and promote Swiss folk music, not just in Ottawa but throughout North America. Our members come from a wide radius around the city, and we believe that our participation in this festival will help to strengthen cultural ties and create lasting friendships.
