Send the Rowing Team to Nationals in Florida
Sixteen local Middle School and High School rowers competed in a Regional Rowing event over Mother’s Day weekend. Surrounded by many very large teams on the final morning of racing, our small but mighty group cheered, clanged cow bells, whistled and hooted as we watched the Men’s U17 4+ boat surge ahead in the final 250 meters of their race and qualify to compete in the 2022 USRowing Youth National Championships in Florida. This is an exceptionally high achievement as this crew will now be regarded as one of the top youth men’s rowing boats in the United States. Wow!!
This annual event will take place in the warm waters of Sarasota, Florida from June 9-12. These young athletes will be bringing their technique, talent and love for the sport with them to Florida and represent Sonoma County on the National level. Ranging in age from 13 to 16 years old, these hardworking athletes include: Peter Carpenter, Cody Davis, Kole Daigle, Trystan Morse and Rocco Smith, along with their fearless leader and head coach, Pam Hughes.
We hope you will lend a hand as we reach out to our friends, family, and local business community to raise funds that will help offset the expenses involved in sending this team to Florida in just a few weeks. We are grateful for any assistance you can offer because it really will make a difference. Money raised will fund coaches transportation and lodging costs. We thank you in advance for your contribution!
