Hi all. Kristina here! I'm a woman with a fiery passion for travel and adventure. Unfortunately, I haven't had many opportunities to see the world. And those that I did have were often missed or cast aside by my ties to men, work, hindering self doubt, etc.
And now, after one devastating heartbreak, two resignations from employment and a 600 mile move, I have decided to follow my heart, reignite my own fire and rediscover my quiet inner strength by traveling to Southeast Asia.
I am adventuring solo which I imagine will force me to stretch outside my comfort zone and open myself up to the vulnerability of the unknown. I am asking YOU, my friends, family and other generous humans, for your support. HELP ME SET SAIL!
I will be starting my journey in March and traveling to Thailand, where I plan to explore the Southern islands all the way up to the Northern mountains. In the North I'll be living in a cultural exchange at a tribal village where I'll volunteer with rescued elephants as they reconnect with their natural habitat. I'll also assist in developing learning experiences for school children and gain lasting insights about the tribal way of life.
I may explore surrounding countries, taking in more of Southeast Asia, volunteering along the way. I am open to experiences as they emerge on my journey toward Indonesia.
I plan to stay a little while in Bali, finding life inspiration in the artistry and culture of Ubud. I'm currently exploring volunteer options there was well, money allowing; teaching English in schools or assisting with the conservation efforts of the sea turtles.
I'm looking forward to this next chapter in my life. Join me in my efforts of finding truth and strength within myself, connecting with and seeking to understand others as I learn about and give back to this wonderful world we live in.
Donations will go toward pre-trip expenses such as immunizations, travel insurance, any needed trip visas and trip expenses such as lodging, transportation and volunteer fees. Any little bit helps! :-)
