One of my very best friends, Jothi Sendan, was diagnosed with a cancer called Multiple Myeloma. This is a cancer of the plasma cells and is very serious. You can read more here:

Jothi started chemotherapy and radiation at the end of June and will continue at least to the end of this year. While he does have some health insurance, it does not cover all of his expenses, including some large expenses for treatment. At this time Jothi is unable to work and it is unclear when and if he will be able to return to work. This is causing Jothi and his family additional stress.
