Sending Emma to the Lonestar Leadership Academy

My daughter Emma has been nominated by one of her teachers to attend the Lonestar Leadership Academy this summer. It is an influential program for grade school students that have demonstrated in the classroom and our communities that they are on the road to becoming thriving members of society. The only way to be accepted to apply to this program is to be recognized and individually nominated by a school official. After participating in this amazing opportunity she will have toured and visited several museums and historical sites of North Texas, made connections with her peers across the state, she will receive a certificate of completion for the program, a college recommendation letter and be able to participate in leadership workshops throughout the following school year.

This year she is participating in several school sponsored and extra curriculum activities such as:

Gifted and Talented classmate

Member of her school's 5th grade honor choir

Member of student council

Participated in UIL listening competition placed 6th

Active participant in YMCA volleyball

Emma has retained an A in all of her classes and also received awards from her school for active participation in the classroom.

There are tuition costs to participate in this program and we are looking for any possible donations or sponsors that we can put towards her fees.
