✨Sending sparkles to the house of skirt✨

I am starting this page for my beautiful, brave sister Prue (aka the house of skirt) her husband Greig & son JJ.

After a long unsuccessful fatility journey my sister Prue received her greatest gift JJ on the 8th August 2019 in their adopted son. This was one of the happiest times in Prue’s life as her dream of being a mum was finally fulfilled.

Fast forward a couple of years her world came crashing down in May of 2021 when she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Nuroendorine cancer.

Following this diagnosis her professor and team were quick to get her into a treatment plan which involved monthly injections and then started I believe 8 rounds of radiation which meant everytime she had this treatment she was away from JJ and Greig for 2-3 weeks isolating.

On Christmas Day in 2021 Prue had her first bleed in which was very daunting and scary - this occurred as we we were getting in cars to leave for the celebrations to begin.

Greig had to swoop Prue off to the hospital where she spent the next 2.5 weeks.

Endoscopy were performed and glue was placed on the blood vessels / veins to keep things together and from having another burst.

Throughout this whole time Prue has had countless hospital admissions for various reason, been poked and prodded whilst undergoing procedures.

Christmas just gone we had a lovely 4 weeks together and while my family were in the air returning to Australia - prue had another significant bleed which has lead us to current state of end of life care.

Since January Greig has been by Prue’s side every moment caring for her, also during this time JJ has been an absolute trooper and shown resilience beyond what anyone can imagine for a 4 year old.

Today is Prue’s 37 birthday & what a special day to celebrate - therefore if you have any connection to Prue, Greig or any of our extended family or friends and wanted to gift Prue something a donation would be truly amazing.

Donations will be going to ensuring Prue is as comfortable as possible that may be in the form of sushi, frozen lemonade or the endless supply of apple juice the Batty household needs.

Anything additional will be going to Greig to support him raise JJ and ensure he has all the all his needs met during what has been & will be the most challenging of times.

Prue is such a fighter and one of the strongest people I know.

She only allows joy, sparkle and colour in her life and spreads that to all that that she comes in contact with.

During this tough time we as an extended family unit couldn’t be more grateful for the messages, phones calls, pop ins and positive vibes being sent Prues & our way across the globe.
