Max Scharf to Worlds on Mtn Bike
Donation protected
This is Max Scharf from Salmon Arm, BC. He was known in our area as an intense ski racer, but at age 16 Max started his pursuit of Downhill Mountain Biking in a big way. He had immediate success, joining Team Canada at the Junior World Championships in Norway in 2014. He has since competed as a private racer at races across Canada, including the World cup events held at Mont Ste. Anne QC in 2014, 2015, and 2016.
This year, at 19 years old, Max raced in the Pro Elite division and finished as the 2nd fastest Canadian at the World Cup event Mont Ste. Anne. He finished 3rd at the National Chamionships at Sun Peaks, and has been selected to Team Canada for the World Championships this September in Val Di Sole, Italy. He will also participate in the World Cup Final Race in Andorra the weekend before.
Max is a self-taught, self-coached racer who achieves great results without a lot of outside help. Sponsorship from a local bike shop, select bike industry sponsors, local businesses and individuals, and of course his parents have gotten Max this far. His invitation to race in Europe in September and plans for an extensive race schedule in the US and Canada in 2017 will require a higher level of coaching and training. Your donations would be a huge part in helping Max achieve his best results at the World Chamionships, and to pursue his goal of a sponsored position on a factory race team.
As a sponsor of Max, I am making a personal donation, and also covering the fees deducted by gofundme for this campaign. This means Max will receive the entire value of your contribution. If you can't donate, please at least share this link on your Facebook page, Twitter, or any other social media so we can get the word out. Thanks!
