I hope this letter finds you well! I want to begin this email by acknowledging God’s faithfulness. God is good, All the time. All the time, God is good.

I am writing to share about one remarkable way God has been moving in my life. As God continues to remind me who He says He is - that He is loving, merciful, faithful, righteous, an advocate for equality and justice, the lion and the lamb - my heart has been burning with more urgency and passion to be a voice for the voiceless. It has been a beautiful yet challenging journey to constantly seek to be at a path that requires uncomfortableness, immense energy, clear focus and vision, and faith. Since Fall 2012 I have been double majoring in Nursing and Sociology. God has drastically changed my path, in which I have dropped the nursing major to pursue a Master of Social Work. I will soon be graduating this May from Biola University and take a next step in faith.

My love for people and a heart for the social work field tremendously grew as I continued to expose myself out of my comfort zone. Overtime, people played a crucial role in my understanding of the Gospel, in which has led me to a higher calling. While attending Biola, I became heavily involved mainly in International Student Association and Multi-Ethnic Programs and Development for the majority of my years studying, which greatly changed and influenced the ways I treat people. Working to support and encourage hundreds of international, third-culture, and missionary students on campus developed and deepened my global perspectives and understanding of U.S. culture. Through nursing clinical rotations, sociology courses, and own volunteerings at various places, my knowledge of difficult issues that were often neglected and aggravated increased, such as various systemic and marginalized issues of racial, class, and gender inequalities, as well as the broken healthcare policy, vicious cycle of poverty level, domestic violence, and so much more.

Though medical skills came easy for me, my heart became more burdened and heavy as I heard people’s unique stories that not only angered, saddened, broke my heart for this sinful world but also pushed me to fix my eyes on Jesus who is the ultimate judge and have hope. As much as I enjoy engaging in one-on-ones with individuals or families to solve problems, I hope to do a macro-level social work, which involves systematically changing health care laws, organizing state-wide activist groups or advocating for large-scale social policy changes such as human trafficking, racism/discrimination, and immigration issues- which are three of my deep passion. God has been faithful in teaching, disciplining, and walking me through each situation.

My parents being Buddhists and younger brother a devout atheist, my home has been a heavy mission field for the past 5 years. Though I am mocked for being a follower of Jesus, they can’t help but to wonder why I am so joyful, which gives me an opportunity to share the.. I fully trust God’s sovereignty in this mission field. Currently, my family has refused to support me in any capacity in my life. Because they have always placed their hope in my career earning much money, success, and fame, it has been very adventurous and exciting to see God’s grace, love and truth being revealed that there is something greater and worth so much more.

More knowledge also means more responsibilities. I believe that receiving education is a huge privilege and an important asset to accommodate people who are unable to voice their needs to the society. I am aiming to fundraise for a MSW program at USC, which is about $47,000. However, I firmly believe that I cannot do this alone without the power of prayer and the support of the Body of Christ. And so I humbly ask for your partnership with me in the glorious work that God is doing.

If you may please consider graciously donating finances to support my graduate education, please message me. If you have any questions about this fundraising, please feel free to call or email me! I thank you so much for being in my life and God bless!
