Send Will Flynn to Law School!
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Will Flynn and this is my GoFundMe campaign to raise money for my law school tuition.
My goal is to raise $25,000. This will cover the cost of my first year’s tuition. I will be attending West Virginia University law school where I’ve already been awarded a $15,000/year merit scholarship so that leaves only $25,000.
For my second and third years, my intention is to work really hard and get such high marks my first year that I’ll be awarded additional merit scholarships for my second and third years. Then I’ll be working and saving over the summer and school year to pay for the completion of my legal education with manageable student loans.
The reason I’m raising money is because when I get out of law school I want to go straight into public service. These types of jobs pay much less than many other legal jobs. By raising money, I can avoid falling deep into student debt and having to take a legal position that’s got nothing to do with public service, just to pay off my student debt.
If that’s the case, then it defeats the whole purpose of my going to law school is the first place, which is to help people!
I’ve created this campaign as a way for all of my family and friends to be a part of the work I do as a public servant after graduating from law school. I’m asking for your financial support, however small that might be. The most important thing is that we stay connected because it’s your friendship and your encouragement that gives me the strength to go out and make a difference in the world.
Many people have asked me what law I’d like to practice, and truth is, there so many challenges facing our communities today, there is no shortage of work to be done, and certainly, no time to be wasted. Here are a few ideas of what I could do as an attorney:
I could prosecute corrupt politicians, on both sides of the aisle, who abuse their positions of power to get rich on the backs of common men and common women.
I could represent poor defendants of all races, who just don’t have the resources to mount a thorough legal defense and have an unfair and unjust disadvantage in legal proceedings.
Or, something that hits me even more personally, helping men and women struggling with addiction and alcoholism who, as a result of their addiction, have committed a crime but after paying their debt to society are desperate for a second chance at life.
Since this is about sharing my life with basically, everyone I know, I want to stay in touch with everyone even while I’ve put my head in the books. Please make sure to drop your physical address so that I can send personal letters and, of course, your email address when you offer your financial support.
I want to share with you the new things I am learning, the challenges I am facing, and ultimately, the people that I’m going to be helping.
No donation is too small but to give you guys and extra incentive, I’ve created awesome "I Sent Will Flynn to Law School" t-shirts, for folks that give $100 or more.
If just 250 people give $100 we will reach the goal of $25,000.
If you are unable to donate, that's okay!
If you could SHARE this on Facebook to 3 people that would make a huge difference!
If we’re able to exceed our goal of $25,000, and I’m confident we can, the excess will go to the Legal Aid of West Virginia, which is a statewide, non-profit law firm that provides free legal assistance and advocacy to low-income and vulnerable West Virginians.
Thank you to everyone for being a part of my life.
I especially want to thank my parents, my brother, my mentors, and best friends for supporting me through thick and thin. I know that all of you will be an inspiration for me to kick ass in law school.
Thank you for your support!
