Senior Citizen in NYC Needs Rent Help

Some of you have seen my GoFunMe ad before. You called me terrible names and sent me abusive emails that I was a scammer. I am not! I had my first court date on November 29th, and I have 90 days to pay back my arrears or face going to trial for eviction. This is REAL and brutality harsh. I need help, and I hope you can give me a helping hand.

Hello, my name is Christopher. I am 63, single, and have lived in the same studio apartment in NYC for 30 years. I have managed to keep up with all my bills, rent, and utilities until now.

I lost a well-paying job in 2021, and now I am almost starting over in income level from 10 years ago, and I am having a tough time with my rent.

I am behind in all my credit cards, utilities, and rent, and now my landlord has started eviction proceedings, threatening to evict me if I don't find the money to pay my back rent. I have been paying what I can but cannot avoid my rent deficit.

My mom and dad are gone, and I have no relatives who can help. I have never been married, so no extended family. It is just me, my two pups, Gina and Franco, and my cat Penny. I do not qualify for loans (due to credit issues), and NYS State Rental Assistance ERAP turned me down. My 401k is gone since the 2008 crash that almost wiped me out as well. I don't want to apply for Social Security early as I will be locked into the low rate, and I am scared of what will happen when I get older.

I need help. I am a good person, and I need some temp help to pay my back rent and get on my feet with the other bills.

I hope anyone can help me a little bit.
