Senior citizen sole Survivor of Devastating fire

Adding to this story . 10/2023 the city wants to cite me for a hole still n ceiling. So it is very important more funds r raised to get trusses purchased. Architect is on board to do drawings n permits. I m few friends r cleaning n washing walls. September 13th, 2022 at 1:30am, I woke to an explosion. Grabbing my landline I ran out and saw flames coming out of the back of the house. I tried calling 911 not realizing my phone lines were already on fire. My fur babies Zacfred, Silvi, buttercup and Quasimoto died that night. If I had not woken up and run out of the house, I would have parishes as well.

The home had a new roof, solar panels and was recently remodeled to host international students.

 My entire life and livelihood destroyed in 4 hrs. My home was not insured. I’ve contacted FEMA, disaster assistance, habitat for humanity, wrote to Mayor Welch and applied for city of Saint Petersburg’s loan. Sadly I was turn down, redirected to dead ends and ultimately not given any assistance.

This past year I have been basically homeless. Vandals have broken into the property and I have struggled to keep them out. Some of my senior citizen friends have helped me clean up the property and protect it from vandalism however, it is still a struggle as I have no transportation and am in my 70’s. I do my best.

This platform is my last resort to try and help rebuild my home. I am asking for help from any organization willing to donate supplies. Volunteers to help with work on the house. If you have any information regarding resources for senior citizens that I can take advantage of I’d appreciate it. I am thankful for any and all support. This is my last resort to get my home back an also help other seniors who can't get resources. 

I tutor , volunteer with United Way, Special Olympics and the Heart Association. I also volunteer at the Carter Woodson museum with 2 others. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I appreciate your help.
