Senseless Gun Violence - Sean Steele
Recently my nephew Sean was involved in a senseless and violent attack on his life.
Sean went outside on a beautiful day to workout doing pull-ups and pushups.
Sean was the only person in the area and was using scaffolding as a makeshift pull-up bar. A man passed by to which Sean payed no attention, shortly after the man returned and tried to punch Sean in an attempt grab the chain from his neck. In a desperate attempt to save himself he was successfully able to stop the mans punch, however in the man’s other hand was a firearm which he pointed at Sean’s neck and fired. Sean collapsed to the ground with a bullet in his neck, which had lodged itself in his clavicle after passing through his esophagus. The man proceeded to grab the chain from Sean’s incapacitated body and escape. Fortunately a passerby was able to mitigate the blood loss and call 911.
At present, Sean is in the ICU after having 2 emergency life-saving surgeries. Doctors monitor him constantly as he is on a feeding tube and in serious condition. With NO access to the loving support of family members due to restrictions from COVID-19 at Boston Medical Center Sean’s morale has wavered.
Sean is supposed to be starting his freshman year at College, and venturing into his young adult life. Instead he is recovering from a violent and senseless act for which he wanted to no part in.
Sean will have extensive medical bills and a very long and challenging road to recovery.
If possible, please share Sean's story and kindly donate anything you can.
