Sensory Room For Lorelei Eve
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Kieron and I am the father of my special little daughter Lorelei. She has always been non verbal and was diagnosed with Autism a while ago, she also has various additional needs which are still being looked into. Lorelei has extreme fears and anxieties when it comes to going outside. Despite being 4 years of age, she still refuses to go into shops or other buildings, and gets extremely emotional if we try to encourage her to go in the car, and it can sometimes take hours for her to calm down.
Last year, you all came together to provide Lorelei with a sensory garden which gave her a safe place to spend her summer without having to feel anxious, and was also a place where she could be herself without any judgement. However Lorelei is now taller and stronger, and she likes to climb when she is in the house, and tries to get her sensory stimulation through dangerous means such as climbing on our dining room table or jumping off the sofa etc, which can be very dangerous.
We have explored putting together a sensory room for Lorelei which would include things such as fibre optic lights, various textures which she can rub on her feet, and bright colourful soft play equipment, plus other sensory toys which would keep her stimulation needs fulfilled and will most importantly, keep her safe. However after doing some research, we were shocked to see just how much this would cost and knew there was no chance we would be able to do this on our own.
So I ask once again, if we could get help from you all once again to clear yet another obstacle we have had put in front of us, in our quest to keep Lorelei safe and happy. Any donation no matter how small, would play such a massive part in making our dream a reality, and would also change Lorelei's life.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
