Sensory Tools for Students at Cigarroa Elementary

As a member of The Leadership Institute at Parish Episcopal School, we must complete four components, one of those being the LEAD Project. In the winter, I observed different classrooms at Cigarroa Elementary School, and found that the students would access certain sensory tools supplied in the classroom when needing to relieve feelings of stress, nervousness, frustration, sadness, etc. For my LEAD Project, I chose to create tool kits for the students at Cigarroa with supplies that will help the students identify and cope with their emotions. By donating to this GoFundMe, you would be donating money to buy the resources needed to make these tool kits, and these kits will help the students' with their social and emotional learning. Some of these resources include: bags to store supplies, cards to allow students to identify/cope with their feelings, stress balls, fidgets, rubik's cubes, etc. Due to Covid-19, school could look different, but these tool kits would be able to be with the individual at school or at home, depending on the circumstances. The goal is to raise this money to create 70+ tool kits, so that means that 70+ elementary school students would have their own tool kit at school or home. The more money donated, the more kids get tool kits! These funds would need to be collected by early August so that the tool kits could be assembled and brought to Cigarroa at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year. Being able to identify feelings and healthily cope with those feelings at a young age is very important, and these tool kits would allow the students to learn how to do this. I would be extremely grateful if you donated to this cause as it would help many children at Cigarroa with their social and emotional learning and coping skills.
