Fire destroyed Connie & Daves home!

My best-est friend, Connie Sentz, sent me a text at 7:23am this morning "Have a safe trip home" because I was driving home to MD after a vacation in FL. And then she went to work. At 9:49am she called me to say her house was on fire. Her husband, Dave, had an unfortunate minor mishap on his motorcycle yesterday so, as-it-now-turns-out fortunately, was home and heard an explosion in the back and was able to get doggies Jack and Dudley out of the house with him. Minutes later the back of the house was in flames.
It's now 5:30pm and she called again to say they are getting ready to tear down the house. In the span of a work day, less than 8 hours, a family's home and everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) can just . . . disappear. All but the clothes on their backs. Not even a toothbrush. Or hairbrush. Or computer. Or 40 years of photos and slides. Or cell phone charger. You get the idea.
They have insurance but that will never cover all they expenses you incur when you have to start over again from zero. There are so many things that you need on a day to day basis that they need to purchase again in the next few days and weeks. They have children they can stay with until their home is rebuilt but I'd like to get a fund for them to use for living expenses and incidentals that we all take for granted daily.
Connie and Dave give so much to others and many have been asking me what they can do to help. You can pay it forward here! They have been through tough times before and have never asked for or taken any help. They aren't asking for help now! But I can because while we all can't help rebuild their house we can help make life just a tiny bit easier for them while they do it.
