Sequoia Track and Field

Donation protected
Over the past few years, Sequoia’s track and field program has been a top competitor, and last season, both our boys and girls varsity teams were PAL league champions. We would like to continue being top competitors in our league, and in order to do so, we need sufficient funding.

This fundraising will finance invitational entrance fees, official timers for meets, new equipment, and stipends for our top-tier coaching staff that includes a former Olympian and collegiate coach. For new equipment, we would like to purchase more stationary bikes so our injured runners can stay in shape and still feel involved in the team, medicine balls, more weights for upper body workouts, and new pullup bars that could also be used by the surrounding community.

In the long-term, there are two large projects we wish to complete. The first is a wood chip track around the undeveloped area adjacent to Broadway and El Camino at Sequoia. Many professional collegiate teams—such as Stanford and the University of Oregon—use wood chip tracks, and having such as track at Sequoia would provide an all-weather running surface for both the team and surrounding community. We would also like to renovate our track shed, as our current one is quite outdated has begun to deteriorate.
