Serben Family Fundraiser
Donation protected
On December 2, in Smoky Lake Alberta, the schools bus carrying Jedd and Jacob Serben was struck by a truck while crossing the highway, injuring everyone on board. Jedd was critically injured and airlifted to the Stollery Children’s hospital in Edmonton with serious injuries. His brother Jacob sustained a concussion but was thankfully not harmed further and was released. Through the treatment by the incredible staff at STARS and the Stollery Jedd was cared for and eventually operated on to repair some major bone breaks and fractures. 24 hours later through the miracle of healing, treatment, and endless prayers, Jedd was able to regain consciousness. His parents, Jared and Julia, made the hour and a half trip by truck on December 2 to meet up with Jedd and stay with him through the night until the most life threatening injuries could start to heal. They have a long road ahead and many miles back and forth to the Stollery from their farm in Smoky Lake. As farmers, they do not have an income while they are not running their farm store. When the store does reopen, they will have many added expenses over the next few months as they move through their healing. Please donate if you are able to this beloved family to help them cope with the many expenses that they will have during this time. If you would prefer, you can support the family by ordering locally raised pork and beef through their farm store.
