Hello All,
On Monday, I came into some unfortunate news regarding my niece. Serenity Lucia Hernandez is her name. She is the daughter of my nephew Alex Hernandez who is the son of my brother Poncho (Frankie) Hernandez. Serenity is his 1 and only grandchild. Her ever so loving mother is Beatriz Rincon.
About Serenity
Serenity has been battling Pre-B ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) for a month. She had been doing chemotherapy treatments twice a week. Anyone who knows anything about chemotherapy knows it compromises the immune system. Because of her compromised immune system, she contracted a fungal infection and was taken to Children’s emergency room last Thursday. The doctors referred to this fungal infection as an Aspergillosis and Mucormycosis infection. It had started in her right lung and then spread completely blocking off her right carotid artery. Wednesday, they performed an MRI that showed the fungal infection had spread throughout her body, it was eating her body and brain and she had a 0% chance of survival. Mom (Beatriz) and Dad (Alex) had to make the most difficult decision they could ever face, to let their daughter go to a better place. As of last night, December 5, 2019, Serenity grew her wings. This is the most heart wrenching, emotionally devastating and life changing decision any parent would ever endure in their lifetime. Serenity was beautiful, lively, funny and an ever so loving soul. Serenity was 4 years old.
Please help me help them. The amount is low but we know the costs are not. Anyone who knows me knows I don’t ask for help. But, I’m not the one who’s in need. I’m just the one who is reaching out for them. They have not asked nor do they expect but regardless, they do need it. If it’s $100 or $5 any amount you can donate will be most appreciated. If you cannot, I understand.
Thank you for reading and thank you in advance for anything you can give.
