Serge's Family Legal Fund

Hey everyone. This is Serge from Marah and Thunder Pie. I hate to write this, but I am facing the fight of my life up until now. My ex-wife, the mother of my three awesome kids, has filed for a big custody change in our decade long 50/50 physical custody split. I can't say much more about it here, but I can say this. This should not be happening. And I want to keep it from happening.

I am a great dad and stepdad.

I know this in my heart.

And my wife, Arle (who is an incredible mom and stepmom) and I have worked really hard- against a LOT of challenges- to create a blended family of two adults and five kids (and two big dogs!) that works really well. Anyone who knows us, anyone who has been in our lives and spent any time with us, knows this is true. Our house is filled with life/ action/ laughter/ tears/ loud guitars/ ice cream/ all kinds of music/ alarm clocks/ and barking.

Yet here we are, having to fight a battle in court now, simply to keep our family together.

It sucks.

This fundraiser is to secure a really fine lawyer who we have met with. The lawyer is really confident and is committed to helping us. But it takes a lot of money. $5000 as a retainer. So we need help. I was going to sell my guitars but then a lot of folks who know us and care about us urged me to keep the guitar and let friends chip in instead.

So here I am. It's hard to do because I am a proud fella. But I'm also not a wealthy one, and this matters more to Arle and me than anything.
