Dance Community Rallies to Heal Serge’s Home-Van

Friends and dance community members!
Adnan called me (Noé) a few days ago to share the heart-breaking news that our dear friend, community member, dancer, and musician Serge had his van-home broken into and ransacked.
What I know about Serge is that even during such a shocking event, even at 70 years old, he’s too humble to reach out for the help he needs.
He’s a giver - playing music for our dances (and constantly undercharging), being a construction guru behind the scenes (like building the stage, stairs, and other parts of OmCulture). His life is about contributing to community.
This is where we all come in! Adnan and I talked to him and although he was quite surprised at receiving this level of care, he said it would significantly help him.
So it’s time for us to make a stand for Serge. It’s time as a dance community to rally together, put him in the spotlight, and give back to him for all the moments we’ve danced to his music, all the moments we’ve learned about contact improv from him, and all the moments we’ve danced in the spaces he’s built.
The damages to his van-home and items stolen amount to $2000, and with our powers combined we can get him back on his feet.
Here’s how to help Serge:
1. Share this on your social media and tag anyone who knows Serge. Spread the word!
2. Donate any amount you can to show your appreciation for him over the years.
The heart of the matter is that when ANY one of us goes down, it’s time for the rest of us to rally together and help. We’re all in this life-soup together!
Let’s show up today to help heal Serge’s van-home!
