Sergio has lost both of his parents
Donation protected
Hi I’m Sylvia Williams of Oakland, CA, the mom of one of Sergio’s classmates. Sergio lost both of his parents to Covid-19 this year. Though he attends private school, his parents did not have money or life insurance. His older sister, Maricruz, has taken over care and custody for Sergio and his sister, but Maricruz is a public educator and just starting out in life herself. She is very responsible and level-headed, but she just doesn’t have a lot of money to deal with the needs of her younger siblings. So some folks decided we should raise some money for Sergio and his family!
We want to raise money to pay for rent, food and therapy. Our fantasy would be to raise enough money to buy them a house in Oakland, but even if we don’t raise that much, I know Maricruz will be very grateful for any help she can get in supporting her younger siblings. My family has decided to donate $100 per month for the next three years while Sergio is in high school, as a sort of tithe. The total is $3600, which is kind of a lot, but when I think about helping out a vulnerable member of our community, it seems doable and totally worth it. Will you please join us in helping out this grieving family? We are hoping that we can get people to donate generously, knowing that we have a personal connection to this kid and this family. Please consider donating to help out! Thank you! The funds will be directly transferred to Maricruz Martinez and will be used to cover housing costs, food, therapy and other costs for the kids such as summer camp.
