SERIOUS SPINE SURGERY AT STANFORD +
Donation protected
For all of us who know and love Lisa -
Lisa is undergoing a major and serious multi-level cervical spinal surgery at Stanford on 11/11/16 and she needs our support. Lisa's condition has significantly deteriorated since her surgery in May, therefore she is now being treated at Stanford. The neurosurgeons have moved up her surgery timeline to attempt to prevent any further nerve damage from occurring. Lisa has already been experiencing severely limited use of both hands, numbness in other areas of her body, and other very concerning symptoms. Stanford doctors have determined that time is of the essence.
As many of you know, this past year has been a very difficult for Lisa and her children—who lost their father at the beginning of the year. Lisa has already been struggling as a single parent to make ends meet and cover her basic expenses as well as help her children to the best of her ability.
The surgeon has informed Lisa that in the best case scenario, she will not be able to work and earn any income for at least two to three months after surgery. She will not be allowed to drive for three months after surgery and her physical movement will be extremely limited. This Go Fund Me is intended to provide Lisa with coverage for her basic living needs (rent, food, utilities, car payment and insurance, transportation to and from medical appointments, etc.) for three months after the surgery.
We estimate these expenses to be $5000 per month for 3 months = $15,000.
Lisa has been such an inspirational teacher, trainer, and friend to so many of us. She is also a loving sister, daughter, aunt and a devoted mother who gives her all.
It is our hope that we can ease her worries during this very emotional and difficult time.
Thank you all so much for caring!
