Service Dog for a Clown

Hey there! I'm Victoria, a professionally trained clown that also has depression. Unfortunately, my depression is quite severe, and it makes it difficult to do daily tasks, like take my medicine, or clean my house. With being unable to take care of myself adequately, you can forget being able to entertain the young and old with my clowning skills. I've been unemployed for almost a year now due to my mental illness.

I recently discovered that there is a type of service dog specifically for mental illnesses called a Psychiatric Service Dog. I am in talks with my doctor about being prescribed one. The problem is, they're expensive. I've found a puppy that comes from a long line of service dogs, but she costs $1,800 (which is the cheapest I've been able to find, regardless of pedigree). We can cover most of that with tax returns, but we'll still need just a little more to fully cover everything, as I've acquired about $400 in debt since I lost my job.

We're hoping to raise $400 to cover my debt, then spend our tax return on the service dog, but we set the goal as the full $1,800 just in case some charitable souls wanted to help cover the cost further. That way our tax return can go to things like medications and doctor's appointments.
