Service Dog for Daphne

My name is Rachel Jeffies. I am married to Brian Jeffies and we have two wonderful children. Daphne is 4 and Grant is just about to turn 2.
Daphne was diagnosed with Autism just before her third birthday. She is such a sweet, smart and loving little girl and Brian and I will do everything that we can to give her the best life possible.
Having an autistic child comes with challenges that neither myself or Brian could imagine. Daphne suffers from anxiety attacks. These anxiety attacks lead to meltdowns that last for lengthy periods of time and that are very difficult for Daphne to overcome. Daphne responds really well to compressions and pressure during these attacks. A service dog would be able to step in and assist Daphne through one of these anxiety attacks and possibly alleviate the symptoms quicker than myself or Brian could.
Daphne is also a “runner” and she is fast. We would use a service dog for tethering. This basically means that the service dog would be trained to guide Daphne and not allow her to bolt. Neither myself or Brian can take our two children anywhere together without the other parent present. A service dog would change that and allow us and our children to have more freedom and experience in the world.

We truly believe that a service dog will enrich the life of Daphne.

We sincerely appreciate your consideration and any amount that you can donate for our family. If you can not donate, we understand and would appreciate that you share our page!
