Service dog for my mom, Jane.

Hi Everyone, I am reaching out to family and friends for help. I am fundraising to help pay for a psychiatric service dog for my mom. My mom, Jane, has silently battled depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder for many, many years. A psychiatric disorder is an invisible illness. Invisible illnesses are a struggle for many trying to seek help, in that those around them often cannot see and do not realize the extent of the illness or its effects on daily life. My mom has been working with her behavioral health providers and her primary doctors to find psychological healing and we all truly believe this service dog will be the therapeutic addition she needs.
With the help of her family and therapist, we want to help provide her with this canine companion that will add a great deal to the quality of her life. A dog can help offer a more complete therapeutic regimen and achievement of a healthier and more successful lifestyle. A dog can help better support her in learning and using coping skills that will help her face daily obstacles. A psychiatric service dog would be task-trained per ADA guidelines to perform tasks such as deep pressure therapy, blocking and guiding in stressful public scenarios, nightmare interruption, repetitive behavior interruption, and tactile intervention of sensory overload or dissociative episodes.
I have researched many service dog organizations and we have applied to The Malinois Foundation. They offer a specific program that trains service dogs for women survivors. With the help of our loved ones, we hope to obtain a service dog through their program. The cost of a service dog is steep, especially with the specific training needed. We are asking you for help. Please consider donating to help us reach this goal.
