Service Dog Fundraiser for Aidan
Donation protected
Hello, I am Aidan’s sister Holly! As many of you know Aidan’s life has drastically changed in recent months with a new diagnosis of epilepsy. Not only was this a surprising diagnosis, it has come with fear, uncertainty and the loss of independence. Unfortunately, life doesn’t stop when it sucks and neither do the seizures. Aidan is almost 400 miles away from our family limiting the amount of support that we are able to provide. Aidan can no longer drive, the seizures and episodes of abnormal brain activity have increased, the doctors have yet to find medications that work for her and there is limited medical support in Valley Springs. Luckily, Aidan does have Blaine and his family for support, but we are quickly trying to get Aidan the additional support of a Medical Alert dog (Service Dog). This dog would be able to provide Aidan early alerts to seizures as well as to Blaine if Aidan is not alert enough to communicate herself. This dog would also be able to bring Aidan medication and water on command so that Aidan is not putting herself at risk by moving during episodes or before the seizures. We have found a reputable company in Oklahoma who will provide this for Aidan. We are asking for any help people are willing to give. We want to see the Fire and spark back in Aidan’s eyes and for Aidan to have security in her new diagnosis and increased safety as she learns her new normal. Thank you all!
