Service Dog Training for Daisy and Christy

Hi, I am Amy and I am raising funds on behalf of Christy Carlyle and Daisy. April 2021 Christy was diagnosed with a brain tumor. On June 29, 2021, Christy underwent brain surgery and had the tumor removed. Last February Christy came to me and shared that she now has a focal seizure disorder which causes her to blank out and not understand what is going on. Knowing that my husband has a Brain Injury as well and shares this disorder, we talked about what his service dog does for him and it has allowed him the freedom to go out in public again. We prayed for months that a door would open for Christy to obtain a dog for this use. She has some very specific requests and we prayed for those specifics along with her whole community. About a month ago Christy saw an ad for a dog that needed rehoming. Prayers were answered and she got to Bring home sweet Daisy (pictured above). Now comes the tough part. Training Daisy on how to work. Through prayer, again another door was opened and a training facility has agreed to take and train Daisy for 8 weeks. This training facility has experience in Focal Seizure disorders and is a perfect fit. During the 8-week training Daisy will learn how to work and act out in public. This is a legitimate training facility and I feel confident that Daisy will return to Christy as a helpful medical companion. At the end of the 8 weeks, the trainers will travel here and train Christy on how to Handle Daisy so they can become a well-oiled team. Follow-on care will then continue for the duration of the working relationship. THe funds raised will cover training (at a greatly reduced fee) and travel for the trainers as well as supplies needed for Daisy while she is away. Please help us support Christy in this journey.
